Auckland Grammar School Table Tennis is probably the second most popular sport at the school (after rugby) with over 300 players competing annually! Play takes place all year across all grades and the school has a long tradition of excellence in the sport with four national titles and several national champions at junior and senior levels. We work closely with the Auckland Table Tennis Association to provide you with the best training and playing opportunities.

September 12th, 2008: Congratulations to our Premier A team of H.Y.Gan (Captain), L.Yang, and S.Liu for receiving their Rep Badges at school assembly.
September 8th, 2008: Grammar's team 1 (Gan, Yang and Liu) finished 4th at the National Teams competition in Palmerston North over Tournament Week. Although ranked 6th, AGS did well to outplay Wellington College and take the 4th slot at the end of the round robin. Congratulations to our top team for such a creditable performance.
AGS 1 - Gan (Captain), Yang and Liu - lost narrowly to St Kents by 3-4 in the final round of the ASB SS Teams Tournament on August 13th. Grammar started poorly in the competition, losing to Westlake Boys by 2-5. However, they recovered much better against a strong MacLeans and lost by only one game (3-4) and went on to be equal with St Kents at 3-3 after the singles had been played. Grammar then won the first game of the deciding doubles but bowed out through careless errors to finally lose narrowly. Our D grade Winter Winners of Meyer-Smith, Wooders and Baeg did well to beat Glendowie in Round 1, but then lost their remaining matches to finish up third. Many thank to our players for competing so well and for digging deep to produce some fine play. However, more practice is definitely required for our top players before heading off to the nationals during Tournament Week (Sept 1st-4th).
August 13th, 2008: Grammar will have two teams competing in the ASB Secondary Schools Competition at North Harbour Stadium. These are our D Grade winners - Meyer-Smith (C), Wooders and Baeg, and our Premier A team of Gan (C), Liu and Yang. All the best to these players as they represent the school in this "Champion of Champions" event.
